Artists invited to submit works in Juried Art Exhibition

AUBURN, Ala.- Artists currently living or working in Lee County and adjacent counties in eastern Alabama are invited to submit works in the 24th annual Juried Art Exhibition, sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association.
Professional, student and amateur artists and craft persons 18 years of age and older are eligible to submit two original new or recent works for this competitive exhibition. Not all entries may be accepted for inclusion.
Works may be 2D or 3D in any art medium. Photography and digital works are not eligible for entry.
All 2-D works must be framed. Works on paper must be matted or mounted and framed. Frames should have Plexiglas (no glass) and be correctly wired for hanging. Canvas works must be gallery wrapped. Free-hanging wall pieces and unframed works must have appropriate hanging means. Sculptures, ceramics, constructions, found objects and all other free-standing works must be stable. All 3-D wall pieces must have adequate hanging means. Labels will be provided and will include name, address, phone, email, title and price if for sale.
The entry fee is $35 and is payable through MyRec at auburnal.gov/parks/register. Entries may be dropped off at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) on Thursday, Sept. 11, or Friday, Sept. 12, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The exhibition will be on display in the Art Gallery at the JDCAC from Sept. 22-Oct. 31. A public award reception will be held during the exhibition.
